What AMT is appropriate to pay an estate agent when they bring a buyer and your home is For Sale By Owner?
We are selling our house, have announced in local and regional papers, put it on Yahoo real estate, etc. A year ago, we had an agent from the list of real friend to us, but no bites. Thus, eight months after his previous contract, listed it as "for sale by owner". We Rec'd a call that she wants to address a potential buyer to see the house. If our house should sell to this customer, what would be the appropriate amount to pay the friend of real estate – - given that we will not do a killing on selling the house on the market today situations.
When the list with an agent, the commission is generally calculated on the selling price.
