Georgetown, Texas, the county seat of Williamson County, once a farming community only, is now a vibrant destination for tourists and students alike. Initially, a solution for the pioneers of Sweden, the city has experienced steady growth since its inception.

The city was founded in 1848, located in fork San Gabriel River. Large portions of the structure of the cave remain unexplored and for this reason, the cave has become a popular tourist destination. The cave was opened to tourists in 1966 and has remained active since then. Visitors are loaded onto a cable car that descends into the cave and are able to walk more than a mile from the structure of the cave.
